Giclee Reproductions can also be reproduced at almost any size, enhanced with oil and signed by the artist to make your own mixed media original!
This process of using a digital image of a painting and reproducing it on canvas gives an affordable, high quality reproduction of art. When it is embellished with paint it can actually fool the eye because it so closely resembles texture and color of the original. It allows for a mixed media presentation of another original piece because colors can easily be changed, images added or subtracted and sizes can be cropped, enlarged, reduced and even stretched to create a new image and format. The colors have been tested for 100 years permanency and they are moisture and water resistant.
For instance, a 30 X 40 painting of a forest scene can be stretched to become a 28 X 60 or a horizontal painting can sometimes be changed to a vertical image. Colors can be changed or adjusted from the original and items can be painted out or added. It can be reproduced in inches, feet or even mural size. This opens up an entire new avenue for fine art at an affordable price.
The cost is easy to figure. Decide the size painting you desire and figure it a $60.00 per square foot to reproduce. Add stretching, depending on size, if you want to show it as a hanging piece, and add an additional 6 inches if the piece will be gallery wrapped around frame. Canvas may be mounted directly to the wall in a process similar to wallpapering (no frame used).
Embellishment on original Giclee is priced per hour, and again depends on size, and subject matter requested. The end result is called a mixed media painting.
Shipping, tax, framing, installation, and delivery is not included. Artist reserves all copyrights, licensing and reproduction rights to her original designs. Most Giclee Reproductions are limited to no more than 300 images, with no more than 50 embellished.
